I took a ride on the Columbia Trail from Long Valley to High Bridge the other day, continuing on to Spruce Run Reservoir before returning. The Columbia Trail is an old railroad right of way which has been converted to a mixed-use trail. The trail winds its way through the Ken Lockwood Gorge. [...] Rockaway Township’s mayor, Louis Sceusi says that the closure of the Splitrock Reservoir parking lot was a last ditch effort to get the state involved in cleaning up and policing the area. I had been chased off the water early on both Friday and Saturday nights by thunderstorms moving into the area, but the temperature was back down to the mid-eighties today and the full moon was going to be coming up right [...] As was previously discussed, the operators of the Shoppes at Union Hill want to bring a Five Guys restaurant to Denville, but require a zoning variance to allow the Five Guys to operate in an area prohibiting fast food restaurants. I attended the zoning board meeting tonight in order to give my support for the [...] NJ.com is reporting that the owners of the Shoppes at Union Hill on Route 10 in Denville have requested a zoning variance from the town in order to allow a Five Guys burger restaurant to open. The variance request is because fast food restaurants are banned in the area. Awesome! The Shoppes at Union Hill are [...] So, it turns out that my barber went to high school with Pete Cammarano, putting me a scant two degrees away from yesterday’s corruuption busts! More Jersey small-worldness… So, Hoboken’s brand new mayor Peter Cammarano and dozens of other officials just got arrested for corruption! It sounds like they have him dead-to-rights… even accepting $10,000 from an undercover operative last Thursday. According to the Times, Cammarano was quoted earlier in the investigation as saying Right now, the Italians, the Hispanics, the seniors are locked down. [...] |
